Wildfire Risk Assessments
This year’s wildfire activity is 2,816% higher than last year, 29 times the amount of acreage burned. – CAL FIRE
How it Works
We conduct an on-site pre-inspection of the property to identify what your property needs to reduce wildfire exposure and meet insurance company requirements. We provide you with investment options, perform the work, and document and verify the work to ensure compliance.
Only some houses will be able to qualify due to the way the home is built, the land, and the surrounding environment. There is no guarantee of the insurance companies’ decision-making factors.
Step 1: Wildfire Risk Assessment
We conduct an initial assessment to identify all recommendations for bringing your home up to a Wildfire-Resilient Home Standard. You will receive a report outlining what needs to be addressed.

Step 2: Investments
Along with the Wildfire Risk Assessment you receive, you will have the scope of work identifying how much you need to invest to bring your property up to standard.
- To remove/maintain the vegetation around your property, you can expect to invest between $1000 and $3000 for the standard home. We recommend that you use gardeners or landscapers of your choice.
- For the structural improvements, such as installing ember-resistant vents and gutter guards, you can expect to invest $3500-$6000. Our team will order the material and vents and handle the installation process.
- To prevent ember ignitions, you can expect to invest between $1,250 and $3,500 in spraying fire retardant on your vegetation.
*These are only cost ranges and will differ based on dwelling size and specifications.
Step 3: completing the work
If you choose to have us perform the investment options provided, the work can take 2-5 weeks to complete.
Step 4: Document & Verification
Once all the work is completed, we will provide you with an Allied Disaster Defense wildfire improvement certificate for you to submit to your insurance carrier. Upon request, we will also speak to your insurance carrier, underwriter, or broker to explain the risk prevention work performed.
